Beneficial Insects
July 6, 2021 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

This webinar was rescheduled from June 22nd. If you’ve already registered, you will not need to re-register.
From plagues of locusts to murder hornets, the idea that “bugs are bad” can be a hard to overcome!
Of course, insects and other wild creatures can’t be “good” or “bad”, but some certainly make our lives more difficult; munching our garden plants and produce, compromising our wooden structures, and sometimes spreading deadly viruses. On the flip side, there are insects who silently improve our lives. These “beneficial insects” pollinate our native plants, clean up dead matter in the environment, and keep many pests in check.
In this webinar experts from Bee & Bloom will take a closer look at the insects and other invertebrates that provide balance to functioning urban and rural ecosystems. We will discuss methods of attracting and supporting these “beneficials”, identifying pest species, and other best practices for pest control.
