El Grito in Shute Park
September 14, 2024 @ 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
You’ll find Tualatin SWCD tabling at Centro Cultural’s El Grito celebration event this year!
El Grito is more than just a celebration—it commemorates September 16, 1810, the day that marked the beginning of Latin America’s fight for freedom and sovereignty. Countries like Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua gained their independence, and today, our nation celebrates a rich and diverse Latino community.
The El Grito celebration is a free family-friendly event. Bring the whole family to enjoy beautifully restored and customized vehicles, along with cultural activities, mariachi performances, ballet folklórico, singing, and an exhibition of local Latino art.
