Andrew’s connection to nature started at a young age. Growing up on the Pacific coast, he spent countless days exploring the rugged Channels Islands. As an Education & Outreach Specialist, Andrew shares his love of the environment and conservation by helping those around him connect to the natural world. He supports the Tualatin SWCD’s programs and mission by coordinating conservation workshops, developing outreach and education materials, and hosting community events.
Andrew is your go-to person if you’d like to schedule an presentation at a community event or school, partner to promote programs, or get advice on sheet mulching your lawn! Andrew has a M.S. in Natural Resource Management with an emphasis in Environmental Education. Prior to joining the Tualatin SWCD, he worked as an interpreter for the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service and led conservation corps crews on public lands throughout Central Oregon.
He spends his free time trekking the beaches, mountains, and forests of the Pacific Northwest, walking his two dogs, and listening to baseball on the radio.
