Annie uses a diverse skillset to share her love for science and nature while promoting the services offered by Tualatin SWCD. Working within the Conservation Education Program, she supports the district’s programs through event planning, communications, marketing, and media production. Having lived and worked across the country, from the densely populated Chesapeake Bay region to the remote Mojave Desert, she holds a unique perspective of how conservation affects community resilience and health. Annie strives to empower her community by making environmental science accessible and engaging.

Annie’s work reflects a varied background. While participating in the local food systems of Southern Appalachia, she earned a B.S. in Digital Media from East Tennessee State University. Later, she completed a M.S. in Applied Ecology from George Mason University. Prior to joining Tualatin SWCD, Annie practiced environmental education through her employment with the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and Potomac Riverkeeper Network.

Off the clock, Annie can be found playing in the dirt, talking to cats, and exploring by boot, boat, and bicycle.
