Andrew’s connection to nature started at a young age. Growing up on the Pacific coast, he spent countless days exploring the rugged Channels Islands. As a Forest Conservation Technician, Andrew works with small woodland owners across Washington County. He helps assess forest health, improve wildlife habitat, and gets the work done. He also host events that help our community better understand the impacts of wildfire and invasive pests on our forests.
Andrew is your go-to person if you’d like to assess the health of your small woodland or get advice on sheet mulching your lawn! Andrew has a M.S. in Natural Resource Management with an emphasis in Environmental Education. Prior to joining the Tualatin SWCD, he worked as an interpreter for the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service and led conservation corps crews on public lands throughout Central Oregon.
He spends his free time trekking the beaches, mountains, and forests of the Pacific Northwest, walking his two dogs, and listening to baseball on the radio.
